I am very pleased with this product. I was concerned because my skin is extremely sensitive and two days later no signs of irritation. Depending on how fast my hair grows back i may have to get a new tube soon. I said to because the actual hair removal lotion does not go far.
I used the product as per the instructions. However, i probably should have done the 48 hour allergy test. But by the time i was ready to use it for first time, my hair had already grown out and i didn’t know there was a test i should have done and i was inpatient to use it. Anyway, everything worked out as it should have. I initially left it on for less than 10 minutes and it did not take all the hair off so when i did the other side, i did the full 10 minutes instead and it finally took all the hair off (with a little bit of rubbing involved from my cotton pad). I don’t have thick hair but i still had to leave it on for the full 10 minutes to actually take all the hair off. I didn’t have any redness on my skin but halfway through the process my skin did start itching and burning a little bit. I didn’t want to take any chances so as soon as i got all the cream off and had cleaned my skin with water, i used my prescription eczema cream to help soothe the skin irritation and to also prevent any redness from occurring (make sure you have some kind of allergy cream handy). I gave this product 4 stars because it works but the tradeoff is dealing with the discomfort during the process.
I’m an african american with polycystic ovary syndrome (pcos). One of the system of pcos is course facial hair. I used it on my chin and neck area and it worked great. I have used other products from drug stores and after a while, they all stopped working. Because everyones skin is different, you should always test the product on a small area first.

“I’m working with my doctor to find out reason but for now I love this solution, Good Solution For Removing My Peach Fuzz, Best facial hair remover EVER!!”
She’s been using this for years.
This stuff works as well as any home lip hair remover that i have used. It does not cause red skinned reactions that the others caused. The nifty two step process actually does work. I make it a three step because i will often use the pre-removal balm (stick) after though it is not necessary it just feels so nice.
I was so excited when i first saw this product was available. I am less than excited after having used it several times. I have tried numerous products to get rid of my facial hair, with the only thing really working being electrolysis. (i am also one of the ones with course hair, so i seem to have the same results as others who do not have fine hair. )read and followed, to the letter, the directions to use the product on my upper lip. After 10 minutes, the product got rid of some of the hair, not all. I would have been ok with that, but the next day i had stubble that i could feel. I figured i had done something wrong, so the next time, double checked the instructions, tried again, and had the same results. Again, i figured it was me, so the next time, i tried using the cream without the protective balm.
I normally love olay products, but this one isn’t that great. It removes my peach fuzz but not my coarser hairs. So much for “medium to coarse hair” formula. I doubt i will repurchase considering the price. There are some positives, however: it doesn’t smell nearly as strong as most depilatories and thanks to the protective balm, my skin is not at all irritated — at least so far.
I really like this product and have used for many years. When trying to buy one locally, no one had it. When i googled it, found out from the olay website that they had discontinued it as a product. Amazon is my go-to for everything from checking prices to finding what i’m looking for, and i was happy to see that one of their sellers still had several. I bought 2 and hope it will hold me until the company wakes up and either brings this one back or makes a better product. I am a p&g stockholder so i plan to contact their customer relations/investor relations departments to add my 2 cents.
This product works for me, i have mostly fine facial hair with the occasional thick ones. This removes the fine stuff, but i still have to pluck those thick ones. I can only leave it on for 6-7 minutes before it starts to irritate my skin. I’ve used this for years and can’t find it locally any more.
Not to thrilled with this, but maybe i’m just defective. I have chinny chin chin hair that’s super annoying and grows fast. I was hoping this would not only get rid of it, but leave me with a longer period of time between removal. It does not remove all the hair and i’ve followed the instructions to a t. It does get some hair off, but i don’t think its doing anything in the way of making my hairless time last longer.
I don’t put a lot of faith in beauty products (if only there was a facelift in a jar) but i’ve been hoping for an effective way to remove facial hair that would not require paying for laser treatments. I tried this product on my upper lip about two weeks ago and was delighted with the results. You begin by applying a protective balm to the area to be treated and massaging it in for 20 seconds. Honestly, the balm feels like vaseline. You apply a thick layer of the hair remover over that. The instructions said to leave it on for 6 to 8 minutes, or no more than 10 minutes for coarser hair. I left it on the full 10 minutes just to see how it would affect my skin. About 9 minutes in, i started to feel a slight burning sensation. When i wiped it off with a cotton puff, presto — the hair was gone. My skin was completely smooth.
I really like this facial hair remover by olay. It works well and i use it on a semi-monthly basis to keep the hair removed from my face. Works well on very fine hair as well. The coarse hair grows back quicker than the fine hair but i like the fact that i can take all the hair off of the sides of my face and on my chin and upper lip. I recommend using the skin guarding balm beforehand as this helps keep the redness and tenderness down afterwards. I’m a repeat customer of this product.
I saw this on a talk show and they raved over it. Well, something is wrong because this is not so great. I’ve given it 2 tries now and my chin hairs are still there. My chin is very soft probably from the conditioner you have to put on first and rub it in for 20 seconds in a circular motion. Then you put the smelly hair remover cream on and wait 8 – 10 minutes. Then you carefully wipe it off with a cotton ball or soft tissue. I have those little round cotton pads and used those. It seemed like maybe a few hairs were gone but i think i was just hoping.
I can’t have my upper lip waxed, because of the acne medicine i put on my face. It is cheaper and less painful than waxing anyways. I take it off at 7 mins though. 8 mins leave skin chapped and burning. I can go about 2 weeks before needing to use it again. I imagine the in between time amount is different for everyone. I’ve been using this product for 3+ years, and will continue to.
This product has been discontinued by olay. They sent a tweet out back in february 2018- what a shame. Best hair removal cream i’ve ever used. I used the sensitive formula, because my skin is super fragile, and it was perfect every time. I almost cried when i read it was no longer in existence.
This is the best facial hair remover on the market. It is extremely easy to use and this kit last a long time. There is absolutely a smell however it is not overpowering at all. It is much milder than any of the other lotions or creams i’ve tried in the past. Considering it’s an oil of olay product, you really can’t go wrong. I would highly recommend it.
Find finishing touch if you can. I used to use this facial hair removal duo and although it’s good, it did leave my skin with some pigmentation that has taken forever to be undone. It has that unpleasant chemical smell, but it does get the job done.
After many years of waxing and hair removal creams leaving me swollen and red, i finally found this product. This is the best hair remover i have found for the face. It leaves no swelling, redness or burn marks. You can literally do it and go out with no trace of having used it.
Watch how long you leave it on at first. Build up to the time on bottle to see how your skin reacts. I have sensitive skin and had to start slow.
I’m blonde and very fair skin. I used this on my furry jaw line and upper lip. Used exactly as directed and the hair came right off and did not leave one hint of redness. I was a little shocked, a lot of things turn my face red. It’s been about a week now and still looks fine. This is my first time using any facial hair remover so not sure how it will grow back.
I had no doubt this product would be everything it said it would. And i was at the end of my rope. When facial hairs started to show up in my late 20’s–not knowing any better–i cut it off with scissors. After a few times of this, of course, it came in thicker. Then, i thought my problems were solved with depillatories. After about a year or so, all it did was burn; not remove. I went back to cutting until those hairs became so coarse, i couldn’t reach them. That was a solution for a very long time until the hairs became miniscule and very painful to pluck.
I’ve been looking for something that works on coarse hair and the reviews on this were good. I thought it was a bit pricey, but if it works, i don’t mind spending the extra money compared to other products. It works great on fine to medium hair. . Extremely pleased with that. However, it did nothing for the coarse hair. I tried it one day and then 2 days later and it didn’t work any better on coarse hair even leaving it on for 10 minutes. After cleaning it off, you could still feel where the hairs were and the next day i could use a tweezers again. Needless to say, i was very disappointed since that’s the main reason i purchased the product. I will continue to use since it works so well on the fine to medium hair, but doubt that i will purchase it again.
The olay smooth finish facial hair remover works great. It’s good for sensitive skin and removes blond hair. I always keep this one hand.
Does the job, but i haven’t figured out the correct timing yet. I have used twice and it appears i should be going a bit longer than their 10 minute max. I used to use a product called ‘better off’, which isn’t made anymore, and this is comparable & close enough to the same results that i will buy it again.
