For reference, i’m white with thick very dry hair. I use this as either a deep conditioner—-i leave it in for like an hour and then rinse, or i use sparingly as a leave-in, concentrating on my ends. I’ve also left it on overnight, then washed my hair in the morning. It’s very moisturizing, but i think for non-ethnic hair you have to use it sparingly as a leave-in, otherwise your hair will look greasy.
I apply some oil for a shinny finish. Often use almond or castor oil.
This is one of the only conditioners i’ve found that actually helps get rid of (perhaps hide/smooth) my split ends. I don’t use it as a leave-in. Instead, i put it on, detangle in the shower, then rinse out. I have super fine hair and it’s too heavy as a leave-in, but using it this way it’s been a dream. If i use anything else i can see my split ends–with this, it’s like the vast majority don’t exist. I also like that it’s all natural and i know what i’m putting in my hair and down the drain.
Try it it helped regrow my hair which came out over a year ago it is now resting on my shoulders and thicker than it ever was i have always had thin fine hair it also use in my 4 yr old granddaughter’s hair it works very well in her super thick hair no they did not pay me nor did i get any discounts for my review i have really used shea moisture products for over a year and i am glad i do i use a few other products as well but this is a staple must have in my hair weekly it’s a good product for natural hair.
I was going to return this because i thought i️ received the wrong product, but they just changed the formula. Instead of “strengthen and grow “ it’s “strengthen and restore”. Minus the keratin and plus the apple cider vinegar. It makes your hair really soft and has a nice consistency. The only thing is that it smells exactly like playdough, but not too strong of a scent.
I purchased this product because i have very thick hair that is color treated. I am caucasian – just saying that to clarify my hair type. Due to my hair thickness, the bleach damage and humidity in florida i needed something to calm my hair down and make it soft. This product totally works but be warned – a little goes a long way. I got out of the shower and towel dried my hair and proceeded to load the bottom half of my hair up with this stuff. When i began to blow-dry my hair – it was so greasy it looked wet when dry. I had to re-wash my hair and then used maybe a quarter size on my entire head. I have hair down to my butt to give you an indication of how a little really does go a long way. But after i did this and blew dried my hair it’s been soft and minus the frizz ever since.
This line is one of the best from shea moisture. It has good slip for detangling and seems to give my hair good moisture. However, the formula is indeed different. I have been using this product for 4 years, and the smell and consistency are different when compared to the original formula. The new smell is not pleasant, but it still seems to get the job done for me.

“Jesus Made This Leave In!!, Here are some tips!!!, It makes your hair really soft and has a nice consistency. The only thing is that it smells “
I have wayyyyy too much to do on any given day but i had to review this product because it legitimately changed my life. How can a leave in conditioner change a life ??.I just moved to co from nc and the drop in humidity has royally. The static electricity is no joke. Canola oil hair masks, coconut oil hair masks, literally drenching my hair in said hot oil and wrapping it in plastic and letting it sit for hours, salon hydration treatments, argon oil, etc etc etc. You name it, i guarantee you that i tried it.
I use a dime size for each hair while damp. Not sticky, did not see silicone products in it (a problem with most leave in conditioners and oils). It doesn’t weigh my hair down. Smells nice and clean (light mildly sweet smell), i can feel my hair moistutized. I like all the products by this company. My hair is shoulder length very frizzy with very thin shafts that easily break. I can see it is smoother and looks much healthier. This will be my leave in conditioner ftom now on. The jar is generous, will last me at least 4 months. I wash my hair every 2 days.
Like i just said, jesus made this leave in conditioner himself. I tried the curl enhancing smoothie back in college and that was honestly hyped up to me. So i was turned off from shea moisture. I have 3c & 4b hair and tends to get dry so i find myself moisturizing too much or not at all because of school, work, sleep, boyfriend. But when i saw the ‘jbco’ line i had to buy it. I started out with the leave in and was drooling the moment it touched my hair. It glided on my curls and did not leave a residue. My hair was so moisturized and soft and defined.
Came quickly and well packaged. Also there’s a good amount of product for the price. I’m caucasian, hair is average as far as thickness, tends to get frizzy or dry. This product is good for my hair because it has oil and moisture to fight frizz and dryness. If you tend to have ‘oily’ hair this probably isn’t for you unless you’re strictly using it for your ends. I wouldn’t put this product near the scalp unless your hair is really dry, i’d say it’s mostly for your ends. I can see it working for almost any hair type. Good luck, i hope this helps (:.
I have naturally curly hair (type 3a/3b). Shea moisture leave-in conditioner is the best i’ve ever tried i applied a generous amount to freshly shampooed hair and let it air dry. I’ll use less next time because it felt like a little too much. It defined my curls, provided shine, and my hair was not frizzy at all. I did not need to spritz my hair with water in the middle of the day because my style remained nice all day. This replaces all my leave in conditioners. I’ll update my review after i try it when doing a roller set – i think that will work nicely if i allow my hair to air dry while in magnetic rollers.
I have naturally wavy, frizzy hair and have never been able to tame it with product or heating tools. I have used all kinds of household items (eggs, mayo, avocado, coconut oil, baby oil) and have left my hair super greasy for days and have just never found a product that worked, much less was all natural. As a caucasian, i wasn’t sure about starting from my roots but i did as the instructions said and it is absolutely amazing. My hair stayed straight and shiny for 3 days even after sleeping on it and putting it in a ponytail. I got so many compliments and am using it again and having the same results. I never review products but had to share my experience. Will definitely purchase again.
